Sterling, Kan. – A lot went right for the Lady Warriors on Wednesday night as they swept the Bethany College Swedes 25-19, 5-20, 25-19. Aubrey Young has a lot to celebrate after the victory as she passed the 2,000 assist threshold for her career. Young had 36 assists in the match, and as our records indicate, she currently ranks 8th all-time in career assists. With one more match to play, she has an opportunity to jump one more spot on the all-time list. And she did all of this in just a three-year career.
Young distributed the ball well throughout the match with Morgan Pellegrino and Aliya McClanahan being the primary benefactors. Both of the Warrior front-row players had 11 kills. Chloe Schmidt finished just behind with 10 kills and added 5 blocks. Freshman, Alyssa Gregory, has been coming on as of late and finished the night with 8 kills herself.
Sterling has a 13-14 record overall, 3-9 in KCAC play. This weekend they play at the University of Saint Mary looking to even their record for the season. The match is scheduled to begin at 2 pm.
