Lady Warriors Push Threshers to the Limit, But Fall in Straight Sets
Sterling, Kan. – The Lady Warriors met the Bethel College Threshers for a KCAC match on Wednesday evening. The Threshers were in third place in the conference standings and proved their seeding in the match. The Lady Warriors have done very well at times against the top teams in the KCAC, and Wednesday was no exception, but they have not yet found the formula to take a close set from those top-tier teams. Sterling lost all three sets played by scores of 25-16, 26-24, 25-17.
Sterling was led in attacking by a pair of freshmen, Chloe Schmidt and Alyssa Gregory, each having 7 kills. Makenna Linden continued her excellent play in the back row with 14 kills, followed by Dru Lindsey with 10. Aubrey Young finished the match with 20 assists.
The challenges keep coming for the Lady Warriors as the end of the regular season approaches. They play host to the Ottawa University Braves on Saturday in the Gleason Center. Game time is scheduled for 2 pm.
