Bio
Hailing from Las Vegas, Nev., Nicolas Martinez attended Sterling College for one year after transferring from Cascade College in Portland, Ore. in the 2009. He played goalie for the Warriors in the 2009 season and graduated that year with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing.
As a player, Martinez was 2nd team All-Conference at Cascade College and Honorable Mention All-Conference at Sterling college. He played professionally for the Wichita Wings from 2012-2015.
Martinez began his collegiate coaching career with the Warriors in 2010 as the assistant soccer coach for both the men’s and women’s team. In 2017, he took over as the head men’s soccer coach and in 2024 was named the Director of Soccer and took over as the head coach of the women’s team.
While coaching, he led the Warriors to their first NAIA National Tournament Appearance in school history in 2020 and was named the KCAC Coach of the Year in the 2020-21 season. He has coached 21 KCAC All-Conference players, one NAIA All-American, one NCCAA All-American and one CoSIDA Academic All-American.
Martinez resides in Sterling with his wife and two children.
