Jones earns KCAC Field Athlete of the Week

KANSAS — Omarion Udell of the University of Saint Mary and Charles Jones of Sterling College have earned the KCAC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from March 16-22 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Athletic Solutions.

Udell has continued his indoor hurdle success to his outdoor season now. This weekend, he not only got first, overall at the highly competitive Spire Team Challenge, but also took over the school record with his time.

Jones had an explosive start to the outdoor season with a first-place finish in the triple jump in the Spire Team Challenge on Saturday, March 21. He hit the NAIA "A" qualifying standard and broke his own school record, recording the first 50 ft. triple jump in school history with a mark of 15.68m (51-5.5).
