Sterling College defeat Baker, 6-1
The Sterling College Warriors got another win on Saturday, March 8 against Baker University. The Warriors ran away with a 6-1 victory.
The Warriors got off to a rocky start when Adam King and Louis Boisdenghien lost in a tightly contested #1 doubles match against Juan Avila and Arturo Nunez, 7-5. The duo of Patricio Cifuentes Aguilar and David Garces responded well from the #2 doubles position, taking the 6-3 victory over River Flaska and Corvin Christ. Yohann Molle and Robin Baransi put the nail in the coffin with a 6-1 win in the #3 match against Immo Ferger and Carlos Alcala to give Sterling the doubles point.
Sterling kept on rolling in the singles matchups. Pedro Felipoff went up against Christ in the #1 match up and came away with a 6-1, 6-4 victory. In the #2 singles match, King faced a difficult Avila and lost 6-1, 6-2.
Molle also challenged a tough #3 opponent, Nunez, but was able to come out with the 6-4, 7-5 win while Cifuentes Aguilar made lighter work of the #4 singles match with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Flaska. In the #5 match, Nicholas Sprenger Sampaio also came out with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Ferger, and Kyosuke Ishida followed suit with a 6-1, 6-0 win of his own in the #6 singles match against Alcala.
The Warriors will be back in action on Thursday, March 13 as they take on Tabor at home.
