Warriors finish eighth at Midwest Spring National Invite
The Sterling College men's golf team traveled to Manhattan, Kan. on Monday and Tuesday, April 7-8 to compete in the Midwest Spring National Invite. The Warriors finished eighth going 57 over par as a team and scoring 38.44 points.
This three-round meet, hosted by Kansas Wesleyan University, was played at the Colbert Hills Golf Course a 7,049-yard course with a par of 72.
Sondre Jenson led the Warriors on the course, finishing tied for 16th and shooting 10 over par through three rounds. In round one and two Jenson shot six over in each and he finished shooting two under par in round three.
Nick Ritchie was just behind him, shooting 15 over par through three rounds and finishing tied for 32nd. He shot five over in round one, eight over in round two and two over par in round three.
Zach Surface finished tied for 38th going 18 over par through three rounds. Surface started shooting seven over par in round one, followed by nine over in round two and finished round three two strokes over par.
Anders Hermansen was 21 strokes over par through three rounds to finish tied for 49th. He started round one shooting two over par, followed by four over par in round two and finished round three 15 over par.
Rounding out the field for the Warriors was Thomas Castelblanco. He placed 70th going 40 strokes over par through three rounds. Castelblanco shot 14 over par in round one, 18 over par in round two and finished shooting eight over par in round three.
The Warriors will be finishing out their season at the KCAC Conference Championship. The event will be held Monday-Wednesday, April 28-30 in Garden City, Kan. at the Buffalo Dunes Golf Course.
