Sterling golf finishes sixth at Oakwood Intercollegiate
Sterling College men's golf traveled down to Enid, Okla. to compete in the Oakwood Intercollegiate hosted by Kansas Wesleyan on Monday and Tuesday, March 24-25.
The Warriors finished sixth on the 6,694-yard course with a par of 71. As a team, the group combined for 44 over par through the three rounds, 18 over in the first, 12 over in the second and 14 over in the third round.
Nick Ritchie was the front runner for Sterling, shooting seven over throughout the competition and finishing 14th. He shot five over par in the first round, even on the second and two over in the third round.
Sondre Jenson finished 20th, shooting 10 over par to boast the second-best score for the Warriors. Jenson shot four over par in the first round, six over in the second and even with par in the third round.
Anders Hermansen placed 41st in the competition, with a score 16 over par. He shot for over par in the first round, five over in the second and seven over par in the third.
Zach Surface and Thomas Castelblanco were Sterling's four and five shooting 18 and 19 over respectively. Surface started round one shooting five over par, went eight over par in the second round and finished five over par in the third round to place 47th overall. Castelblanco finished 54th individually shooting nine over par in the first round, one over in the second and nine over in round three.
The Warriors will be back in action at the Midwest Spring National Invite in Manhattan, Kan. on April 8.
