Stutzman, Jaderston Make History in Victory

LINDSBORG, Kan. – Trenton Stutzman (6-0 SR Guard) and Coach Dean Jaderston both made history in Lindsborg, Kan. on Thursday night in an 87-66 Sterling College Warrior victory over the Bethany College Swedes. Stutzman tied his own single game three-point record, making nine in the game and tying his career high in scoring with 33 points. Jaderston earned his 95th victory at the helm of the Warrior program, passing former SC Head Coach Jim Chroust for third on Sterling's all-time victories list for head coaches.

Stutzman led all scorers in the game with his 33 points and added six rebounds and four steals. Adam Brown (6-4 JR Forward) was the second leading scorer for Sterling with 18 points. Cody Brazelton (6-6 SR Forward) added 16 points and four rebounds and was the only other Warrior in double figure scoring. Raheem Odomes (6-2 JR Guard) just missed a double-double, scoring eight points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Darius Alexander (5-10 SO Guard) nearly had a double-double as well with eight rebounds and nine assists.

Clayton Goggins led Bethany in scoring with 17 points while Chris Dean added 14 points and Haydon Parks added 11 points.

Dean Jaderston picks up his 145th career victory and 95th career victory at Sterling College, passing Chroust for third on the all-time victories list. Chroust had a record of 94-152 at Sterling. Jim Woudstra holds the top spot on Sterling's all-time victories list with 107 while Clair Gleason is in second with 104. Jaderston is only 10 wins away from passing Gleason and 13 wins away from becoming Sterling's all-time winningest coach.

With the win, Sterling is now 14-13 on the season, 9-6 in the KCAC and will play host to the Bethel College Threshers at the Gleason Center on Saturday at 7:00 pm. Watch the game live on the Sterling College Sports Network.
