Spence Earns KCAC Special Teams POTW

WICHITA, Kan. — Jalil Brown of McPherson College, Myles Elam of Kansas Wesleyan University, and Jakobi Spence of Sterling College have earned this week's KCAC Football Offensive, Defensive, and Special Teams Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The three student-athletes were selected for their performances from Oct. 28-Nov. 3 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Equity Bank.

Special Teams Player of the Week

Jakobi Spence - Sterling College

5-11 | 172 lbs. | Fr. | DB | Phoenix, Ariz.

Spence was a difference maker on Saturday. He blocked an extra point early on and then blocked what would have been a game-winning FG with 10 seconds to play, sealing the win for Sterling. He averaged over 25 yards per kick return. Defensively, he led the team in tackles, had an interception and 2 breakups.

Defensive Player of the Week

Myles Elam - Kansas Wesleyan University

5-9 | 185 lbs. | Fr. | LB | McKinney, Texas

Elam had a great game on the defensive side of the ball. He was part of KWU's defense that held Tabor to only 37 yards rushing on the day. Among his eight tackles, he had two on fourth down plays that stopped Tabor drives. He added another on a sack in the third quarter for a 16-yard loss that pinned Tabor at its own 10 yard line and forced the Bluejays to punt out of the end zone.
