WICHITA, Kan. - The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the 2016 Football All-Conference selections and individual award winners.

(12) Tabor College is the KCAC Champion for the second consecutive year with an 8-1 conference record and an 8-2 overall record. (13) Sterling College, (17) Kansas Wesleyan University, and the (RV) University of Saint Mary all finished 7-2 in the conference. The Spires' head coach, Jay Osborne, was named the 2016 KCAC Coach of the Year by his peers.

Sterling's Cedrick Phillips (SO/Stockton, Calif.) is the unanimous 2016 KCAC Player of the Year, while Offensive Player of the Year is awarded to Jesse Rogers of Friends University and TJ Brown (SR/Stockton, Calif.) of Sterling. Defensive Player of the Year honors go to Saint Mary's KyRandall Smith, TJ Brown also took home the Special Teams Player of the Year award, Bethany's Ali Shahryar is the Dr. Ted Kessinger award recipient, and Chase Hansen of Sterling has been named Assistant Coach of the Year.

Cedrick Phillips was a unanimous selection as the 2016 KCAC Player of the Year. Phillips threw for 3266 yards and 37 touchdowns, while also rushing for 1039 yards and 11 touchdowns.

TJ Brown was awarded the 2016 KCAC Offensive Player of the Year and the Special Teams Player of the Year. Brown was also a unanimous All-KCAC First Team selection at Wide Receiver; leading the KCAC in Receptions and Receiving Yards. Brown was also a First Team selection as Kick Returner, leading the KCAC in Kick Off Returns, finishing with three returns for touchdowns and 739 return yards on the season.

Nathan Frame (SR/Kinsley, Kan.) was named All-KCAC First Team as a Wide Receiver. As a big target in the middle of the field, Frame caught 52 passes this year for 881 yards, averaging 16.9 yards per catch and finishing with 10 touchdowns, creating a tough matchup for opposing defenses.

Lars Lind (SR/Golden, Colo.) was a unanimous All-KCAC First Team Offensive Lineman. Lind was a driving force up front for the Warriors, setting the tone at the line and giving the offense opportunities to score. Lind also scored a rushing touchdown this season for Sterling.

Dentton Hudspeth (SR/Denton, Texas) was named All-KCAC First Team as a Utility Player. Hudspeth continued his versatile game play, creating many opportunities on offense for the Warriors. Hudspeth finished with 120 passing yards and two touchdowns, while also adding 29 catches for 291 yards and four touchdowns. He also added 89 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the season for the Warriors.

Tyus Williams (SR/Lewisville, Texas) was a unanimous All-KCAC First Team Defensive Back. Williams battled through an injury this season to still put up impressive numbers, finishing the year with 35 tackles and leading Sterling with three interceptions, tied for fourth best in the KCAC.

Michael Winstead (JR/Pearland, Texas) was named an All-KCAC First Team Kicker and an All-KCAC Honorable Mention Punter. Winstead connected on 7 of 10 field goals this season, converting a 37-yard field goal for his longest of the year, finishing with the second best percentage in the KCAC. Winstead also finished 67 of 71 on his extra point attempts on the year, while also punting 26 times for 949 yards with long of 59 on the season.

Dezmond Howard (JR/Montgomery, Ala.) was named All-KCAC Second Team at Linebacker. Howard was a force at the inside linebacker position for the Warriors, finishing second on the team with 93 tackles. Tremayne Hutchins (SR/Lancaster, Texas) was named All-KCAC Honorable Mention at Offensive Line. Hutchins played well on the offensive line, helping the Warriors establish a consistent rushing attack, while giving time for the offense to develop, all while continuing to pound away at the opposing defenses. He also finished the year with a rushing touchdown.

Rigo Guzman (SO/Thermal, Calif.) was named All-KCAC Honorable Mention at Offensive Line. Guzman stepped into a starting role this season for the Warriors and a valuable member of the Warrior offensive line unit, he was key in protecting the quarterback and allowing the offense to run effectively.

Keith Lowry (SR/Claude, Texas) was named All-KCAC Honorable Mention at Defensive Line. Lowry helped lead a strong defensive line, collecting 37 tackles on the season. He also finished with 3.5 tackles for a loss of 10.5 yards for Sterling.

He also finished with 4.5 tackles for a loss of 23 yards, while also recovering and returning a fumble for a touchdown.

Chase Hansen was named the KCAC Assistant Coach of the Year. In his fifth year of coaching at Sterling, Hansen was able to help construct a powerful offense that put pressure on opposing defenses throughout the season. The offense continued to develop this season and improved, setting new records along the way and creating a fast tempo that was difficult to match. This is the second time that Hansen has won the award, the first time being for the 2013 season.
