Sterling College announces Schneider as administrative assistant, Hendrixson as new Assistant AD of Operations

STERLING, Kan. — As Sterling College gears up for the start of a new school year, the Warriors have some familiar faces in new spaces with the addition of Mariah Schneider as the new Administrative Assistant and the transition of Tim Hendrixson to the role of Assistant Athletic Director of Operations.

"We are delighted to welcome Mariah back to campus. She has already stepped confidently into her role as an assistant within the athletic department, and we look forward to supporting her continued growth in this position," said Vice President of Athletics, Justin Morris. "Tim has been a valuable asset to our operations for many years, and we are eager to see the continued efficiency and enthusiasm he brings to the game‑day experience."

Mariah Schneider, a Sterling College alumna, returns to her alma mater after graduating in 2008 with a Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration while also playing volleyball for the Lady Warriors. Prior to her return, Schneider was employed at First Group Insurance in Sterling, Kan. She started training in her new roll in June under her predecessor Deb Wiebe and officially took over the position on July 1.

"I am looking forward to being back at the college and the atmosphere it brings," Schneider said. "It means a lot coming back to Sterling College. I had a lot of people at the college pouring into me as a student and helping me grow in my faith. Now as an employee, I am just so excited to be in a position to do the same for our student athletes."

Tim Hendrixson, who has been a recognizable presence at Sterling College, will transition from his position as an assistant women's basketball coach to his new role as Assistant Athletic Director of Operations. Hendrixson holds a Bachelor's of Science in Sport Management from Sterling College where he also played basketball as a student athlete. After graduation he served as an admissions counselor from 2019 to 2022 before transitioning to his role of assistant women's basketball coach from 2022-2026.

During his time with the women's basketball team, he furthered his education by earning a Master's of Science in Sports Administration from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 2024. This summer, Hendrixson officially assume his new responsibilities with the athletic department.

"First I want to thank VP of Athletic, Justin Morris, and President Scott Rich for allowing me to take this next step in my career. I am looking forward to serving the coaches, athletes, campus, and the community in a variety of different ways. I will miss coaching, but I am excited to start my role in administration," Hendrixson said. "Sterling College is a special place, and I am looking forward to sharing the impact it can have with our students and staff."
