Why did you choose Athletic Training:
Athletics have been a huge part of my life and the one way I thought I could stay close to athletics would to become an AT. When I first first looked into the Athletic Training field, I only saw the main duties of an Athletic Trainer. Now after being in the program for 3 years, I have seen the entire aspect of what it takes to be an excellent Athletic Trainer. Looking back at those years, my decision to work to become an Athletic Trainer was one of the best choices in my life

Then I would like to open an athletic development clinic and work with athletes to help them improve strength/speed for their specific sports.

Why did you choose Athletic Training:
After going through multiple knee surgeries on the same knee missing my entire senior year of high school. I was still offered a volleyball scholarship to Hesston College, once stepping foot on the court at college I was told I would need another knee surgery and that many thing's wouldn't be possible again. The Athletic Trainer say two words, "Challenge Accepted" and with those two words by spring season everything that was once told would be impossible was possible by the dedication and many hours spent rehabbing my knee after four surgeries. That is why I chose Athletic Training.

Not as they pretend to be.”

School transferred from (if applicable):  Mesa Community College
Level in the Program: Level 3
Sports/Clubs you Participate in: Women's Soccer

Why did you choose Athletic Training:
I choose athletic training for many reasons. I was an athlete and suffered many different injuries. If it wasn’t for my athletic trainers that I had I wouldn’t off been able to play all four years at the college level. In high school when I tore my ACL my athletic trainer was the one who made sure I could come back and be the starting goalkeeper the next year. When I thought about what I wanted to get my degree in and do as a career I knew I wanted to be around sports and help athletes. I learned what athletic training was from the athletic trainers who took care of me and I knew that was what I wanted to do as my career. I would be able to be around sports and help athletes day in and day out. I want to be able to get an athlete back from a serious injury and able to compete again like my athletic trainers did for me. I also choose athletic training because of all the different aspects of the job. One day you could be having to save someone’s live and the next day you are watching your team compete for a national championship. Athletic training is a job where you get to truly help someone and care for them. It might not be the best paying job but at the end of the day you can make a difference in athletes lives in different ways and that’s what I want to do.

Inspirational Quote/Bible Verse:

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Live life, laugh always, always dream big

Future Plans:
At this point to get a graduate assistance position somewhere and further my education.
