STERLING, Kan. – On Saturday, Nov. 2, Sterling College will dedicate the basketball floor in the Gleason Center as Lonnie Kruse Court in honor of Women's Basketball Head Coach Lonnie Kruse between the Alumni Games. The Women's Alumni Game will begin at 5:00pm and will be followed by the Court Dedication at 6:30pm. The Men's Alumni Game will follow at 7:15pm. All three events will be available on the Sterling College Sports Network via www.scwarriors.com.

Over the last 33 years Lonnie Kruse has made an impact on and has been a father figure to many, many Sterling College student-athletes.  Lonnie has put his heart and soul into this college and his program.  He has served the college in so many different ways from coaching several different sports, teaching in the exercise science department, being the athletic director for 18 years and also being a part of the administration of the college.  Lonnie has put Sterling College on the map at the national level through his women's basketball program.  He is currently the winningest women's basketball coach in the State of Kansas and is second on the active list in wins with the NAIA.  The dedication he has to his program and the strong morals and values he lives by helps him guide and mold these student-athletes into who they have become.  He not only has had an impact on his players, but also with the people that have worked with him and for him.  He has been a mentor to so many of our coaches, teaching and guiding them.  His strong Christian faith has given him the ability to be a dedicated and humble man.  God has blessed him with a wonderful family, his first love and secondly the love of the game.  Sterling College would like to thank him for his talents he has given us and to his family for sharing him with us.
