STERLING, Kan. - In their first game on Saturday during the Sterling College Invitational, the Lady Warriors made quick work of the Indians of Haskell University. Sterling won the match in three straight sets to move to 3-0 to start the season.

SC jumped out early in the first set, taking it 25-12. The second half proved to be a struggle for the Lady Warriors, but SC prevailed 25-23. Sterling closed out the match in set three, winning 25-18.

Senior Sara Steria dominated the match with 15 kills for Sterling on 33 attacks with six errors for a 0.273 hitting percentage. Freshman phenom Hayley Ray was dominant in the middle again, collecting nine kills with a 0.529 hitting percentage and one block. Adriana Gonzalez was the floor general again, dishing out 36 assists while also killing the ball five times.

Defensively, Mamaiataloa Fiaseu led the Lady Warriors with 10 digs. Steria and freshmen Jenna Arlow added nine while Gonzalez added seven.

With the win, Sterling moves to 3-0 on the season and will take on Southwestern Christian (Okla.) at 12:00. Watch the game live on the Sterling College Sports Network.
