WICHITA, Kan. - The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) Head Volleyball Coaches have selected the 2012 Preseason All-KCAC Volleyball Team. Sterling College is represented by two Lady Warriors on the 13 player team in seniors Sara Steria and Adriana Gonzalez. Kansas Wesleyan lead all teams with three players on the team. Sterling was tied for second with Tabor, Ottawa, and Friends with two players.
Steria, a senior from Bend, Ore., was a unanimous All-KCAC First Team selection in 2011. During her junior campaign, Steria recorded 387 kills and 46 service aces. On the defensive side of the floor, Steria had 331 digs and 35 blocks.
Gonzalez, a senior from Tatum, Texas, was an All-KCAC Second Team selection in 2011 and has received All-KCAC honors in all three of her seasons at Sterling. As a junior, Sterling's setter recorded 1056 assists, 118 kills, and 19 service aces. Defensively, Gonzalez had 311 digs and 34 blocks.
The Lady Warriors open their season on August 24th at 12:00 pm against Central Christian College in the Sterling Invitational Tournament. The game will be available on the Sterling College Sports Network.
