MARION, Ind. - Sara Doll finished out the 2012 track season with a bang placing 15th in the nation in the marathon at the NAIA Track & Field Championships this weekend. Doll was ranked 33rd going into the race based on her half marathon qualifying time from back in December. Doll's time of 3:17.21 placed her 15th over all out of the 41 women who started the race.

With an early start to the morning, the 6:00 am race was Doll's last race in her track & field career and her last chance to etch her name in the record books.

"Sara was shooting for her fifth school record today and I don't think she was going to let anything get in her way of that history. She ran a very solid, very smart race and she did an amazing thing today," said Head Coach Jack Dillard

Doll not only broke the school record, she shattered it by 42 minutes, wrapping up what has been a stellar year for herself and her team. Sara Doll's name is now in Sterling College Track & Field history in five events, all of which she broke during the 2012 Track & Field season.
