GREAT BEND, KAN. – The Sterling College Baseball team took on the No. 3 Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles in the semifinal game of the KCAC Tournament earlier this afternoon. The Warriors battled it out throughout the game, but the Eagles would take an early lead and go on to hand Sterling it's first loss of the tournament, 18-5.

The Eagles got going in the top of the second inning, scoring five runs off five hits, jumping out to an early 5-0 lead. The Warriors would get on the board in the bottom of the inning behind a solo shot over right field by Javoni Thomas, making it 5-1 heading into the third. Oklahoma Wesleyan continued to convert at the plate, collecting hits to move around the bases to add to their lead. OKWU scored again in the fourth and fifth innings, jumping ahead 13-1, as the game moved into the sixth.

The Warriors put together four runs, using hits from Kyle Ulanday and Jake Schimenz to make it 13-5, but Oklahoma Wesleyan continued their strong offensive game, adding five more runs late in the game, earning the 18-5 victory over Sterling.

Nicholas Domitrovich led Sterling with two hits, while Javoni Thomas, Eric Skogseth, and Manny Rojas all collected RBIs. Kasey Biddle finished with two strikeouts on the mound, while Nicholas Cordero added one.
