Track & Field - Thu, May 5, 2016

The Sterling College Men's and Women's track and field teams will cap off the 2016 season this Thursday and Friday, May 5 and 6, at the KCAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Wichita, KS. Events will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday and 2:00 p.m. on Friday.

Several Warriors will have a strong chance at medals at this year's championships, including Hunter Hope (SR) in the Javelin and Pole Vault, Lucas Garrett (JR) in the Steeplechase, and Robyn See (FR) in the Pole Vault. The women's 4x800, which finished with a bronze medal at the Indoor Conference Championships in February, and 4x400 meter relays will also be in medal contention.

Aaron Pinkerton (SO) and Zach Williams (FR) will look to climb the conference ranks in the men's 1500 meter run, as both are coming off of recent personal best races. Lacey Buckwalter (SO) will be a dark horse contender for a medal in the women's 10,000 meter run, and Kristen Calderwood (FR) will look to upset a group of national qualifiers in the women's javelin.

Emily Bebermeyer is within a few feet of making a splash on the throwing scene as she has thrown the discus 112' 3" so far this year. Bebermeyer's throw is just two feet shy of the 3rd ranked throw in the KCAC.
