NEWTON, Kan. - While the temperatures were only in the 50's, the Sterling College Warrior cross country team heated up the course on Saturday with some very impressive performances by both the men and women's teams. The Warriors traveled to Harvey County East Lake to participate in the Tabor College Invitational with nine other NAIA and junior college teams.

HUTCHINSON, Kan. - The Sterling College Running Warriors competed at the Hutch CC "Romp at the Ridge" cross country meet on Saturday for their second meet of the season.

WICHITA, Kan. - Joe Magana started off his Sterling career by placing 15th at the Wichita Wild Wind XC meet on Saturday with a time of 27:58. Magana's time was good enough to rank him 10th all time in school history. Magana joins teammates Joey Moreno (seventh All Time), David Amador (12th All Time) and Jared Reimer (14th All Time) on the Top 15 XC School Record Board.

STERLING, Kan. - The Sterling College Cross Country Team opens their season on Saturday, September 7 at the Wichita Wild Wind Festival, on the grounds of the Cessna Activity Center in Wichita, Kan. The 2013 season will mark Coach Jack Dillard's 10th year of coaching the Warrior's cross country program, and will be the final season for five Warriors as they compete in their senior season of eligibility. The Warrior cross country team started fall workouts on August 19 and will have several weeks to prepare for their opening meet.
